It is with immense excitement that I welcome you to Fast-and-Wide.com, a new blog/website with an agenda that reflects its name.
Although 'Fast-and-Wide' is taken from the generic description of high-performance digital bus, it also neatly fits the need for information exchange if we are to make the most of unprecedentedly rapid technological advance and the fallout from global recession.
Fast-and-Wide will carry news strings reflecting the international nature of today's pro audio business and that of those that surround it, but the site is principally a platform for airing issues and challenges, and identifying strategies to address them. It is not intended to compete with those magazines that already serve both local and international communities, but to complement them in certain of the areas they are least well-shaped to address.
The Fast-and-Wide agenda is symptomatic of the same technological advances that are simultaneously our problems and our opportunities – this alone indicates that the tools we need are within our reach.
We are in uncharted territory. But as the whole history of exploration and achievement tells, great opportunities and opportunities for greatness are to hand. It now requires you to share your thoughts and experiences in order that we make the best of them.
