Auralex has announced the RLX (Room Layout Express) app, designed to give instantaneous recommendations for acoustical treatment solutions for many different room types.

The app returns immediate results, after selecting Room Type [Audiophile, Broadcast, Control Room, Home Theater, Live Room, Mastering Room, Project Studio, Rehearsal Space, Video Editing Suite, Vocal Booth, Conference Room or Other], then Edit Room to view multiple results for the dimensions entered. Recommendations are based on both the type of room selected and the suggested amount of necessary acoustical treatment required based on the specific square footage of space, and made from Auralex of Absorption, Bass Trapping and Diffusion products. The app will return up to three suggestions from the Studiofoam, SonoLite and ProPanel designs.

Information on equipment and gear in room can also be input. The app will use this information to provide suggestions on applicable Auralex ISO-Series products that help to isolate instruments and gear from the surfaces upon which they rest. Decoupling can reduce the sound transmission and resonance that occurs when resting on a hard surface.

Once the recommendations are identified, it is possible to purchase the specified solutions from an Authorised Online Dealer listing, or find contact information for the nearest Authorized Auralex Dealers.

The RLX app is designed to provide immediate suggestions for effective sound control solutions for many room types. Auralex will continue to offer its Free Personalized Room Analysis service, where customers fill out a form (online or downloadable) with details about a project and provide diagrams with room dimensions. This information is then used to render an acoustical model of the space and to determine the most effective acoustical treatment plan for the specific room and application.
