Audio-Technica’s BPHS1-XF4 mic/headset combines closed-back circumaural (around-the-ear) ear cups designed for maximum comfort and ambient noise rejection with minimal ear fatigue, with a boom-mounted moving-coil dynamic microphone.
The microphone has a unidirectional polar pattern tailored for pick-up of speech with maximum voice intelligibility over a wide frequency range. A neodymium magnet in the microphone offers a high output level, which is more sensitive to sound originating directly in front of the element than off-axis sounds. The flexible gooseneck boom swivels for easy positioning on either the right or left side. The headset’s dual earphones offer a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, using a 40mm neodymium driver.
The BPHS1-XF4 comes standard with the BPCB4 cable (terminating in a 4-pin XLRF-type connector) and three AT8162 windscreens. Additionally, it can be transformed into a broadcast headset by changing to the BPCB1 cable with 3-pin XLR-type/stereo quarter-inch terminations (available separately).
