d&b audiotchnik Vi-Series

Building on the success of its V-Series mid-sized line array system, d&b audiotchnik has launched a fully-specified Vi variant for permanent installation. The Vi line lincludes the Vi8, Vi12 and Vi-Sub, all conforming to the V-Series technical performance, but with simplified rigging and electrical connections that adhere to installation expectations.

The Vi8 and Vi12 loudspeakers are three-way passive designs housing two 10-inch LF drivers, one hornloaded 8-inch MF driver and two 1.4-inch exit HF compression drivers with 2.5-inch voice coils mounted to a dedicated waveshaping device. They have an 80° and 120° horizontal constant directivity dispersion respectively, which is maintained down to approximately 250Hz. The Vi-Sub, meanwhile, is an active cardioid subwoofer powered by a single d&b D12 amplifier channel using two long-excursion neodymium drivers in an integrated cardioid configuration. These are an 18-inch driver in a bass-reflex design facing to the front and a 12-inch driver in a two-chamber bandpass design radiating to the rear.
