The loudspeakers share the design of Genelec 8000-series active monitoring loudspeakers, but have been optimised for use in challenging commercial installations, particularly those compromised by lack of space.
They both have a die-cast aluminium Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE), which features relatively large internal volumes; curved edges and high mechanical strength, resulting in imaging accuracy and good low frequency extension. They also incorporate the advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), which provides an smooth on and off axis response; while long, curved reflex port ends in a wide flare for bass articulation.
While the 4020A features a 105mm (4-inch) bass driver with a 19mm (0.75-inch) tweeter, the 4030 offers a 5-inch bass driver. The models are capable of 66Hz-20kHz and 58Hz-20kHz frequency responses respectively, and deliver 105dB and 108dB SPL at 1m.
The accompanying documentation has also been changed to better suit installers and consultants, and Ease data is available.
