Austrian Audio has launched the OC-S10 Reference Recording Microphone, the brand’s new flagship that is ‘equally ideal’ as a vocal and instrument mic.

Austrian Audio bills the new mic design as ‘a thoroughly forward-thinking recording tool’ that builds upon popular legacies of the 20^th century while also speaking to the needs of artists and creators in the now’.

The heart of OC-S10 is Austrian Audio’s specially selected CKR12 capsule, which is a free floating design using an Open Acoustics Technology approach to capture sound with minimal obstructions. OC-S10 uses a new electronic design for a very low noise floor. Multiple cardioid pattern settings allow different variations of this voice, including the capability of multiple outputs accessed via dual, full-sized XLR outputs at the bottom of the microphone.

OC-S10 is housed in a sleek metal casing built for high durability, with Pad, Low Cut Filter, and Microphone Pattern settings accessed via movable rings along the casing for ease of use and robust, long-term reliability. The microphone includes a hardy shockmount featuring a ball-joint connection that makes positioning the microphone simple, and a magnetic attached frame-less metal mesh pop filter designed to minimise reflections.
