The US Plugin Alliance has announced the release of the Brainworx bx_saturator V2 native plug-in.
Retaining the key features of the original bx_saturator including M/S processing, the plug-in adds saturation or distortion to targeted frequencies, and increases perceived volume without clipping the audio.
Each of the plug-in’s four XL frequency bands have dedicated gain, drive and XL (mix) controls. Saturation and drive can be accurately applied using the two X-Over sliders that allow selection of the frequency ranges of the Mid Hi/Lo and Side Hi/Lo channels being processed. The process can be used to fine-tune selected bands with acoustic instruments, or add analogue-type distortion to a rock mix.
‘bx_saturator has been a very popular plug-in,’ says Brainworx founder and, CEO Dirk Ulrich. ‘And with the totally rewritten algorithm in bx_saturator V2 we’ve improved the smoothness of the sound and the anti-aliasing, while reducing the CPU requirements significantly. This makes bx_saturator V2 not only a no-brainer upgrade for existing bx_saturator owners, but also a must-try for those users who haven’t yet worked with it.’
