UK broadcast rental company HotCam has exteneded equipment maintenance support with three London staff members.
Formerly The Cruet Company equipment manager, Chris Worland joins HotCam as kit room manager, while Jack Chinn and Richard Wright become kit room equipment coordinators. All three will ensure that HotCam camera equipment and peripherals are properly serviced, maintained, prepped and packed in readiness for TV crews and producers to use.
‘The kit room is an unsung hero of the facilities world, and we would be nothing without it,’ says HotCam MD, Trevor Hotz. ‘We pride ourselves on prepping our kit to the highest possible standards and packing it in exactly the way that the client wants. Because we are so busy at the moment, having Chris and his team on board will be hugely beneficial to both HotCam and our clients.’
Worland’s career to-date has included spells as a QC engineer, a facilities coordinator and a camera operator for the likes of Technicolor Video Services, Videomania International and Video Assignments. Chinn and Wright, meanwhile, have extensive runner experience gained on shows such as Big Brother, The X Factor, The Apprentice and Strictly Come Dancing.
HotCam has also appointed a new facility secretary – Emily Wood joins from the world of photography, where she worked as a studio sales coordinator.
All four new members of staff start with immediate effect.
