Simon Blackwood has joined DiGiCo as Business Development Director.
According to the UK-based digital console manufacturer, this newly created position is set to ‘evolve into a key role, with Simon leading an expanding direction for the company’. This is yet to be fully announced, but is expected to draw on Blackwood’s unique expertise and industry knowledge.
‘It’s great to be able to welcome Simon to the DiGiCo team,’ says DiGiCo MD, James Gordon. ‘He is going to bring a new dimension to our expertise base and will be instrumental in taking us into new areas.’
Blackwood’s pro audio career inclides time spent with Soundcraft, where he was founder and MD of the Spirit by Soundcraft marque, and, most recently, as Turbosound MD.
‘It’s an honour to manage a great company where smart people want to come and work and we’re delighted that Simon is going to be a part of that,’ Gordon adds. ‘We believe DiGiCo is a real professional audio oasis.’
