Brainworx has appointed former Universal Audio President Matt Ward as CEO of its newly-formed US division, Brainworx USA.
Prior to his ten-year-tenure in executive management at Universal Audio, Ward worked in product management for other pro audio companies including Studer Revox, Otari and E-mu Systems. More recently, he served as a strategic advisor to Manley Labs and PreSonus.
In his new role with the German audio plug-in developer and analogue modelling specialist, Ward will develope new business opportunities and assist with distribution and marketing efforts for both Brainworx and its American sister company, Plugin Alliance, in the US. He will also work directly with Brainworx Germany CEO Dirk Ulrich on growth strategies for the Brainworx family of companies.
Matt has been a friend and mentor of mine for several years, and, following his work with Universal Audio and beyond, he is the perfect fit for Brainworx with his widely-spread contacts and the respect he has gained for himself in the pro audio industry,’ says Ulrich.
‘Brainworx has rapidly risen through the ranks to become a market leader in plug-in development,’ Ward replies. ‘The passion that they have for high-quality audio is readily apparent in their products. There is tremendous potential for growth, and I’m excited by the possibilities. Dirk Ulrich and I have been friends for years. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see all those ideas we’ve talked about taking shape.’
February 2014 sees new Ward and Ulrich opening a new office in Scotts Valley, California to assist business development and growth.
