Cadac has appointed Rob Hughes as UK Sales Manager, part of a move to establish its own UK distribution through a select dealer network.
Hughes began his career as a freelance FOH engineer with Tourco and SSE, and subsequently joined SSE as a Project Manager before moving to Shuttlesound in 2008, as Midas and Klark Teknik UK sales consultant; a position he retained when the Midas KT established its own UK sales operation. He joins Cadac from Midas KT, where he was latterly Technical Support Manager, having rejoined the company after a time with Studer.
‘Rob knows everyone and anyone in the UK concert/touring community,’ says Brand Development Manager, Richard Farriday. ‘Engineers, system techs, and rental company owners all respect his knowledge and experience, and it is great for Cadac to have such expertise on board.’
‘I am confident of Cadac taking forward and regaining its place at the very top of the market,’ Hughes adds. ‘I am particularly looking forward to being involved with the success of the new range of digital products.’
From April 2014, Cadac is bringing its UK distribution in-house, ‘to facilitate closer relationships with UK customers and will result in faster product development from user feedback, and improved technical support, direct from the factory’. Hughes will oversee the UK operation and will be working out of a new Cadac marketing and demo facility in Stourport, Worcestershire.
‘The UK market, despite its modest size, is hugely influential on a global scale,’ Ferriday says. ‘It is our intention to expand upon Cadac’s reputation and heritage as one of the great brands in our industry, and to this end we need to be very close to our customers in key international locations. Bringing UK distribution in-house is the first step. Further developments will be announced soon.’
