Richard Kershaw is to retire from his position as Director of Operations at HHB Communications.
Kershaw began his career at HHB in 1983, after meeting MD Ian Jones while working for theatre sound specialist Hardware House. During his 30-year tenure he saw the company launch innovative technologies including the Portadat, CDR-882 and other models, the BurnIt range of CD recorders and FlashMic under its namesake brand, in addition to a variety HHB Recording Media, which continues to be available.
As Operations Director, Kershaw oversaw the UK and overseas distribution arms of both HHB and its Soho subsidiary Scrub companies, and became the go-to guy for many facets of HHB’s business. ‘It has been a great privilege to work alongside the extremely talented people at HHB throughout the years,’ he says. ‘The company is now stronger than ever and we have a young and dynamic team who bring the same passion and energy to the business that we had in the early years of HHB. It will be sad to leave my good friends, but I know the company will only reach new heights in the future.’
‘Richard has not only been a great person to work with, but a good friend who will be missed by everyone at HHB,’ says Jones. ‘As one of the longest-serving HHB Directors, Richard has helped steer the company through exciting times of growth over the past three decades. His knowledge, attention to detail and great sense of humour have made him a well-liked and respected colleague of the professional audio industry and we wish him the best of luck.’
