Karl Christmas is to take a position within Yamaha Corporation of Japan, with Terry Murphy stepping into his position as Sales Manager for Yamaha Music Europe in the UK and RoI.
Christmas has been a familiar figure to Yamaha customers and the industry media for many years. He joined the company in 1988 and has combined his extensive technical knowledge and experience with a flair for personal communication to great effect. His new role in Yamaha’s Global Pro Audio Technical Marketing Group, based at the company’s R&D Centre in London, will see him support the expansion of Yamaha’s Commercial Installation System (CIS) business around the world.
‘Karl is uniquely qualified for this new position in an important segment for Yamaha’s future business growth,’ says Nils-Peter Keller, Marketing Director of Pro Audio at Yamaha Music Europe. ‘I would like to thank him for all he has done for us and wish him every success in his new role.’
Murphy joined Yamaha in 2009, working on sales and business development in the company’s Electronic Keyboard Division. He became Southern UK and RoI Sales Representative at Yamaha Commercial Audio in 2014. His promotion will see him expand his remit to overall sales management of the UK and RoI.
