The Systems Group at Shure Distribution UK has recruited Andrew Francis as Senior Applications Engineer and Richard Knott as Project Manager.
Andrew Francis has a decade of A/V experience covering both installed systems and live events. During this time he has worked with politicians and business leaders, as well as other high-profile public figures such as His Holiness The Pope, while producing conferences, awards events and gala dinners. On the installation side he spent three years as a technical manager designing and commissioning A/V systems for large corporate installations, specialising in multipurpose flexible meeting rooms.
In his new role, Francis is a product specialist for Shure’s Microflex Advance, Microflex Wireless, QLX-D, ULX-D and Axient Digital platforms. He will also offer technical support in the pre-sales and commissioning phases of larger projects, and will take an active role in industry education through Shure Audio Institute events.
‘There aren’t many companies that have the history and reputation Shure enjoys in its core industry. I’m delighted to join the Systems team at a time when Shure are moving into new markets with the incredible MXA910 ceiling array microphone, and with the introduction of Shure’s first DSP product, the P300, this will only continue. I’ve always enjoyed pushing the boundaries of what technology can do for the A/V industry, and I think Shure share that passion, which makes it a great place to work.’
Richard Knott also has a background in A/V, with a focus on installed sound, having carried out roles at manufacturer and distributor level. Prior to joining Shure he was Business Development Manager at White Light, managing A/V system design and project sales across a range of markets. As Project Manager, he is responsible for relationship building between Shure, end users and consultants in the Systems market, focusing on conference audio, meeting rooms, and multi-divisible spaces.
‘Now is an exciting time to be part of the Systems Group, as Shure’s presence continues to grow in the corporate market,’ he says. ‘The company has a rich history of audio solutions of the highest quality, and an excellent UK team as well as global support. I’m very pleased to be a part of Shure and I look forward to working to deliver our aims and goals.’
‘Microflex Advance has proved hugely popular since its launch in 2016 and, with their knowledge and experience, Andrew and Richard will be invaluable as we continue to develop the Shure product portfolio and deliver innovative solutions to the market,’ says SDUK Systems Group Manager, Duncan Savage .
