‘Naming things is always a challenge, and someone else was already using the name Fission for an audio software product. So, in response to a formal request, we are renaming our product, Physion,’ says an Eventide spokesperson.
As a result, the Structural Effects plug-in formerly marketed as Fission is now Physion. Fission has been nominated for a TEC Award and, in its short life, has already been used by engineers and producers including Tony Visconti and Steve Rosenthal. It has even helped give life to the Shadow Monster in the Netflix series, Stranger Things.
