The first events will be held in Bordeaux (1-2 March) followed by a second round in Rennes on (9-10 March). Further dates will be announced in due course.
The workshops are aimed at professional APG and Audio-Technica users, and those potentially interesting in adopting them. Each workshop lasts a full day and will be held twice at each venue. A wide range of topics will be covered and there will also be a number of practical demos.
‘Training and education are key elements to the success of any brand, and APG is no exception,’ says APG’s Gregory Dapsanse. ‘In fact, we have made it a policy to involve our users in our product development process for many years. As our products have become more refined, both technically and from a business point of view we wanted to find a means to present them in a way that was both interactive to allow an exchange of views, and at the same time, as close to a genuinely live situation as possible. I am therefore delighted to be teaming up with Audio-Technica, a highly respected brand whose products are entirely complementary to our own, to offer these workshops across France. We hope they will be both interesting and informative.’
Each session kicks off with a seminar from Audio-Technica’s European Regulatory specialist for wireless products, Dre Klaassen, on the wireless frequency sell-off in Europe, current UHF regulations their implications. APG’s Gregory Dapsanse continues with a presentation of the UniLine line array system followed by a practical demonstration from APG Product Manager Mathieu Delquignies. Two further practical demos will be hosted by independent sound engineer Charles de Schutter on how to optimise signal capture and distribution (microphone choice and placement) in the case of a singer with a guitar and also for a drum kit. The final seminar, presented by Mathieu Delquignies, will be on coaxial stage monitors and will address issues such as how to manage feedback, diffraction phenomena, coupling and power output.
