The legendary Hollywood Beach Bandshell has upgraded its sound reinforcement with the use of DAS Audio systems supplied by the South Florida branch of Guitar Center Professional.

‘Ron Green – Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort’s Director of Entertainment – wanted to upgrade the sound system capabilities. As an outside venue, he wasn’t certain what type of loudspeakers would best handle the job, so he reached out to me,’ says Professional Accounts Manager Ricardo Cintron-Jimenez, who handled the sale of the DAS equipment.

‘Being that an indoor demonstration is a lot different than the beachfront stage area at the resort, I coordinated a live demo onsite at the beach so we could evaluate dispersion, clarity, speech intelligibility, ease of set-up, and overall sound quality of the Event Series loudspeakers. The demo proved to be the best way to evaluate the equipment and the loudspeakers showed that their sound reproduction and coverage were ideal. Combined with rugged build quality, scalability, and overall versatility, these loudspeakers proved to be a great choice for this particular bandshell venue.’

As an outdoor venue, the DAS loudspeakers are moved on and off the stage each day. With this in mind, the set-up includes covers for the loudspeakers to help protect them as they are moved, along with stacking brackets. Once the equipment is moved onto the stage, the set-up provides for three groundstacked DAS Event 208A loudspeakers each for the left and right sides – accompanied by one Event 218A subwoofer for each side.

For Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, customer service and technical support were important considerations: ‘DAS Audio provides solid support, training, and customer Service,’ Cintron-Jimenez says. ‘When we decided to conduct a live demonstration at the resort, both DAS Miami’s General Manager Jaime Villegas and US Accounts Manager Carlos Henao were 120 per cent supportive. The demo was very successful and helped immensely with the negotiation.’

‘This venue has become one of the go-to places in the Hollywood Beach scene,’ says Cintron-Jimenez. ‘It’s a special venue that is changing the vibe of Hollywood Beach. The DAS sound system is crisp, with great fidelity and overall quality. Everyone in the community is talking about the system and local bands love performing here.’
