Heritage Audio has acquired the rights to Lang Electronics Inc an audio equipment brand originally from New York, previously popularised throughout the 1950s and ’60s as a cost efficient alternative to other professional audio companies of the day.
In particular, the Lang Model PEQ-2 (Lang Program Equalizer) is now held in high regard by artists, engineers, and producers who consider it to be better than a Pultec when choosing it as their .secret weapon’.
Originally operating out of downtown New York, Lang Electronics began by providing replacement parts and modifications designed to improve the performance and reliability of well-known audio processors and recorders used in the broadcast and recording industries of the time. The company subsequently began supplying complete audio systems, designing equipment of its own at very competitive prices, and often of better quality than their contemporaries.
Today,Heritage Audio is intent on offering professional, high-quality equipment at high value – a philosophy that mirrors that which Lang Electronics built its reputation on. European pro audio manufacturer has now acquired the rights to the historic brand, and is preparing the first product to be produced in the modern era to be a reissue of the PEQ-2. As a new piece at a price intended put it within reach of most musicians and engineers, it promises to provide access to some of the sweetest-sounding tones and textures the industry has ever heard.
