Following the recent announcement of the departure of Roger Furness from the post of AES Executive Director, allegations of misconduct and financial misdealings are surfacing.
Very specific accusations have come from a senior US AES officer which, if true, paint a worrying picture of Furness’ management of his office, and questions his ongoing status as Executive Director Emeritus. The sequence of events dates back to 2005.
In an Open Letter to the AES Executive Committee, Los Angeles AES Section Treasurer Richard Wollrich lists ten points detailing alleged financial impropriety and a case of alleged assault, and questions the AES response to situations he claims it was aware of.
This was made public on 31 July through LinkedIn. As yet there has been no response from the AES.
