Noted for sustainable packaging, Allpack recently installed a video conferencing suite at its Staffordshire National Distribution Centre to better serve its professional client presentations, podcasts, product videos and online training.
Allpack approached leading audio experts Alchemy System Integration for system design and supply, who worked with the fit-out company on the installation of equipment alongside the current Allpack IT set-up, with hardware and cabling concealed within the fabric of the building.
Andrew Almond, Marketing Manager at Allpack, emphasised the need for a scalable and user-friendly interface, incorporating camera set-ups for flexible product demonstrations and sessions within the Sustainability Suite. Challenges related to environmental noise and unwanted camera triggers, due to the open environment, were expertly addressed by Brad Field, Chief Alchemist at Alchemy, with assistance from audio distributor, Audiologic.
Working with Audiologic’s Application Support Engineer Anna Shahin, a design was agreed of the Q-Sys Core Nano audio, video and control (AV&C) processor with Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC2) ceiling microphone, that enables unwanted noise to be eliminated, coupled with a Q-Sys NC-12x80 PoE PTZ conference camera and a pair of QSC AD-S4TB cabinet loudspeakers. Using Q-Sys plug-in Automatic Camera Preset Recall, the three presentation locations are seamlessly recalled for tracking, supporting hands-free presentation.
‘Audiologic is very much a “value added” distributor, as opposed to many of the others out there that are just box shifters,’ says Brad Field, Chief Alchemist at Alchemy. ‘In particular, thanks to Anna Shahin, who helped with the system design and commissioning.’
The simplicity and effectiveness of the Q-Sys and Sennheiser solution, was emphasised by Shahin, with the TCC2 providing Microsoft Teams Room and Zoom certified audio coverage of up to 80m² with automatic dynamic beamforming technology. The Logitech Tap/Intel Nuc certified Microsoft Teams Room system completes the set-up.
The user-friendly system, including camera tracking, seamless integration with current IT components, and high-quality audio and video reproduction, was praised by Almond. He was pleased that, following a recommendation for the system from an industry colleague, the set-up has surpassed the objectives of the project.
‘Working with Allpack has been a pleasure, using Audiologic’s recommended hardware met Allpack’s digital objectives, particularly with enabling the camera to track the presenter,’ Field says. ‘Both QSC and Sennheiser have great reputations and are known to be perfect for voice reproduction. We are very pleased with the results.’
The successful implementation of the presentation studio has received positive feedback from clients, allowing Allpack to host online events and discussions professionally.
‘Customers have been very impressed with the set-up and how clear the video and sound quality is,’ Almond reports. ‘It has provided us with additional resources to not only present via Microsoft Teams, but also to host online events and round table discussions in a professional manner.’
