DPA Microphones has appointed UniAudio Asia as its distributor for the Southeast Asia market.
The newly-formed Singapore-based company has signed an agreement that covers Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia. It was ounded by former Sennheiser Electronic Asia sales manager Yusof Ahmad, who describes the philosophy behind the venture as being ‘about people, people and people’. ‘DPA completes the circuit with its fine-crafted miniature and headset microphones,’ he says. ‘DPA’s credibility in microphone manufacturing is definitely well entrenched. If there’s a word to describe the brand, then it is finesse. I’m not new to DPA – I’ve used them on many occasions before and I love the microphones’ sonic signature.’
Among those joining Ahmad at UniAudio Asia are Bryan Lee as head of sales, Thomas Sim as assistant sales manager, system engineer Wahab Jaffar, product trainer Charlie Yu and marketing and communications executive Amanda Tham.
‘I confident that Yusof Ahmad and his colleagues, with their extended experience from the industry, will take DPA Microphones to the next level and strengthen our regional presence,’ says Ken Kimura, DPA Regional Sales Director for the Asia-Pacific. ‘UniAudio Asia will spearhead our promotional activities in Southeast Asia and carry our full product range which also includes our 4099 clip mics for various instruments as well as our newly introduced Reference Standard microphones.’
