Just west of Gainesville, Florida, the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center hosts some of the Southeastern United States’ highest-rated horse shows. ‘They were looking for a new sound system for both the facility’s indoor and outdoor arenas,’ says JSC Systems’ Daniel Hunt. ‘We went to the drawing board and were able to produce massive amounts of audio with relatively few loudspeakers in our modeling using Danley.’

Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian CenterThe design of the facility’s new sound system focused on the use of Danley’s outdoor family of loudspeakers, specifically the OS80 loudspeaker. ‘Consider the space in an equestrian arena,’ Hunt says. ‘You have riders who need to be able to hear the ring calls during stunts and activities. In addition, you need loudspeakers pointed toward the gallery who are watching. There has to be a lot of thought put into speaker placement, engineering, and delay management.’

JSC Systems selected the OS80 outdoor loudspeaker along with the complementary THMini15 subwoofers. Thirteen OS80 loudspeakers now cover both the gallery and riders’ area, along with four THMini15 subwoofers for low end. Delays are set such that both riders and event attendees had a quality experience with limited audible interference. Outside, JSC used OS80 and OS12CX loudspeakers to cover the outdoor arena, in the stands, and throughout the area who may be standing near the outdoor arena.

‘Ninety per cent of what we do at JSC outdoors for arenas or stadiums, we use Danley Sound Labs,’ Hunt says. ‘There are few products that sound amazing and can meet the requirements of our variable weather here in Florida.’

‘The folks who attend these events love the sound of it,’ says Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center Maintenance Manager, Lee Ferguson. ‘The folks who use it, love the ease of use of the audio system. New visitors enjoy the system and say it’s sounds great. Those who have been here in the past, they’re overwhelmed with how good the sound is. It’s a great improvement.’

‘Danley is set apart from other manufacturers because we have a focus on creating high quality audio experiences, no matter the weather,’ says Danley Southeastern Regional Sales Manager, Cooper Hedden. ‘Whether our OS line of loudspeakers or our extreme weather (EW) materials, we use many of the same high-quality components we use on our indoor loudspeakers and subwoofers. However, we modify their encasings to ensure the weather doesn’t damage those components and create the same clear and quality sound we are known for.’

‘We want our clients to be amazed at the quality of our installation. And frankly, I still want to be amazed,’ Hunt says. ‘So, when we at JSC select partners for projects like the Equestrian Center, we select companies like Danley for everything we do.’
