The BTR-240 system operates in the licence-free 2.4GHz frequency band and delivers full-duplex operation for up to eight beltpacks with an almost unlimited number of half-duplex beltpacks. It also offers two separate audio channels that allow users to communicate on either or both channels. Talk and listen and listen-only modes are selectable on individual or both channels.
TR-240 beltpacks can be configured in one of three operating modes: wireless, wired or master wireless. In wireless (normal) mode, beltpacks communicate to each other using the base station as a relay. In wired mode, beltpacks turn off their wireless ability and communicate via an Ethernet cable or through a building’s existing Ethernet infrastructure. In master wireless mode, a beltpack itself acts as a mobile access point to provide wireless coverage for other beltpacks to communicate without an actual BTR-240 base station.
Beltpacks incorporate removable, rechargeable Li-Ion batteries which offer up to 8 hours continuous use and can be re-charged within the beltpack or externally using the CHG-240 four-way battery charger. The BTR-240 wireless intercom system is suitable for standalone operation or can be directly interfaced to wired systems including RTS, Tecpro and Clearcom.
The new system becomes available in October, and Canford was taking advance orders at the show.
