Røde Microphones has secured a new office in the heart of Sydney’s creative community, to serve as the company’s international design hub.
Røde completed the purchase of Level 2, 17 Randle St, Surry Hills this week, for an undisclosed amount. The new office will house both the in-house product design and marketing teams, and be led by VP of Design and New Product Development, Peter Cooper.
Cooper joined Røde Microphones in this executive role in 2011, following a successful relationship as an external product design consultant.
With multiple Australian International Design Awards, a European Red Dot award, and most recently a Good Design award from the Chicago Athenaeum to its credit, the product design team is recognised for creativity and innovation.
Headquartered in Silverwater at its 5,000-sq-m manufacturing plant, and with offi ces in Santa Barbara, Seattle and Hong Kong, the company is one of Australia’s few electronics manufacturers and exporters.
‘We’re all incredibly excited about this new creative offi ce, and the opportunities it presents for further expansion, says Røde founder and MD, Peter Freedman. ‘One of the keys to Røde’s continual success is our attitude towards fostering innovation and nurturing creativity, and this new offi ce will allow for a dramatic increase in the size of our product development and marketing teams. Additionally the department relocation will provide further room for expansion at our Silverwater manufacturing facility.’
