Samsung Electronics has made a further move into media delivery with its acquisition of mSpot.
Offering mSpot Music and mSpot Movies (movies in the US only), the American technology start-up service streams music and video to mobile devices
Based in Palo Alto, California, mSpot is among various cloud media services looking to establish a presence in the cloud streamed media and may be a good fit for Samsung’s entertainment plans for its smartphones, tablets and other devices. Samsung already has its Music Hub cloud service in place, and joins HTC Beats Electronics and Mog in the emergent media streaming market. As yet, Apple’s iCloud will synchronise iTunes purchases across Apple devices but does not stream data.
