Following an earlier announcement in December 2012, Harman has now completed its acquisition of Martin Professional, advancing the US commpany’s capacity to serve applications and geographic markets with advanced, highly integrated A/V and lighting systems.
‘As we move forward together and institute Martin Professional as a business unit within Harman Professional, our customers from both the lighting and A/V disciplines will soon be able to capitalise on joint innovations, efficiencies and access to our systems portfolios,’ says Blake Augsburger, Harman Executive VP/President Harman Professional Division. ‘In doing so, I am confident we’ll also drive growth into emerging markets and vertical markets where digital technologies are increasingly central to the commercial enterprise – specifically transportation, hospitality, retail, communications and education.”
The Martin LED outdoor lighting system was recently showcased during Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Martin luminaires have also recently been used for live performances by rock acts including the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Coldplay, as well as for Broadway and West End musicals. Martin is in the process of adding products across all of its lines, including models in the MAC Viper family, LED video products, lighting control and atmospheric smoke solutions.
