UK-based technical solutions specialist Central Presentations Ltd (CPL) has launched a Broadcast Division dedicated to supplying film and TV crews with equipment and technical packages tailored to studio, OB and location work.
CPL Broadcast is headed by Lee Gruszeckyj, who joined the company in 2012 with the new division in prospect, and is designed to meet the demand in the Midlands area for camera, audio, lighting and grip equipment for news shoots, promos and commercials. Three key factors in establishing CPL Broadcast are geographical location, offering equipment, and back-up and support.
Considerable thought and pre-planning has shaped the equipment investment and packaging, and follows extensive research into what crews and engineers require. CPL Broadcast identified the need for flexible, easy-to-use and adaptable packages that can be transported anywhere. All equipment is packaged in rugged, highly portable Peli cases and robust kit bags which can be fitted into a crew car or taken on a plane either as checked luggage or cabin baggage.
Cameras include a large stock of Sony PMW-500s and F55s etc. complete with battery packs, monitors filters and accessory kits. Lighting brands include Kino Flo and ARRI, also available as portable kits designed for quick and simple deployment, with fuss-free cable management.
CPL’s HQ and warehouse in Warwickshire is a further factor in the equation: ‘There is definitely a demand for this type of kit in the Midlands, and we are ideally located and convenient for anyone working in a wide catchment area which includes North Wales,’ Gruszeckyj confirms. ‘Rather than crews having to travel up to Manchester or down to London to get what they need – now it’s right here.’
CPL Broadcast offers the same standards of backup and service as its sister company, with a 24-hour technical hotline, on-site and telephone assistance and a reputation for prompt, knowledgeable and friendly support.
