The audio installation for a new multi-function hall at China’s Sinopec Petrochemical Corporation has kept local agent Sanecore busy recently. The distributor placed an Allen & Heath a GLD mixing system at the centre of the set-up, including a GLD-80 digital mixer, with accompanying AR2412 and AR84 remote I/O expander audio racks,

The hall is principally used for company meetings, training, performance and video presentation, for which the GLD system is installed alongside an EAW JFL210 line array system, with sources including a Blu-ray player, six wireless mics, eight instrument mics and eight gooseneck conference mics. The AR2412 rack is linked to an EAW UX8800 loudspeaker processor, which distributes the signal to the amplification after processing.

‘The GLD-80 is a great mixer to have installed,’ says Yuan Yuan, site manager at Sinopec. ‘I can use Scenes to recall different functions, which is very convenient for quick switching between them, and means it only takes minutes to prepare for a meeting or a performance. I always plug a USB key in to the GLD-80 to play or record music, and I can even record while playing music, which is great.’
