The first Avid S6 control surface to be installed in Central London has gone to Envy Post Production.

EnvyThe S6 is part of a new audio suite in Envy’s second building in Rathbone Place, Soho, where it will be used for the quick turnaround of film trailers, VOD and high-production online content. It was installed and configured by Scrub, a division of HHB Communications, specialising in serving the post production industry.

The S6 is a fully customisable, modular system that provides Envy with the option to select the individual modules as needed and tailor the console configuration to suit the required workflow. Envy has chosen an eight-fader M10 S6 with Pro Tools HDX and v11 software. Additional Knob, Process and Automation modules were selected for deep, hands on control of Pro Tools, while the included Master Touch Module provides multipoint touchscreen control of multiple DAW functions.

‘The S6 is an extremely powerful console with a very smooth workflow,’ says Envy Dubbing Mixer, Rich Martin. ‘We first saw it at Scrub’s Soho preview event and immediately knew that it would be perfect for our new audio suites, and the ability to select the individual modules to match our needs was a major selling point. Scrub was very helpful throughout the installation process and configured it onsite in an arrangement that matches the workflow of our engineers.’

‘Envy is one of the biggest Avid Icon users in Soho, so it is no surprise that it is the first adopters of the S6 system,’ Head of Scrub Sales Ben Scully offers. ‘The S6 can be custom configured in a variety of layouts and built up over time as the user’s needs increase. Our customers have found S6 to be an extremely flexible and powerful system with the tools to suit any workflow.’

The S6 is available from HHB and Scrub in an array of pre-configured M10 and M40 formats, or as a bespoke M10 or M40 system with up to 32 faders. The surface can control up to eight Eucon-enabled DAWs simultaneously from anywhere on a facility’s network.
