The imposing new complex was designed by architect Vyacheslav Izhikov and formally opened late last year, with the ceremony attended by Russian Prime Minister and former President, Vladimir Putin. The construction project was initiated by the local community and funded by Rosneft, one of Russia’s largest oil and gas companies, with support from the Russian government. Called in by main A/V contractor SpecVideoProject (SVP), ISPA Engineering presented Tannoy’s Qflex beam-steering loudspeaker system as the best solution. After a demonstration arranged by ISPA, a pair of QFlex 16 columns was all that was required to provide controlled coverage of the small but highly reverberant 250-seat worship space. Crucially, the installation of the QFlex 16s is discrete – minimising any impact or compromise of the ornate architecture of the temple’s interior.
Outside the church, Tannoy Di5a self-powered surface-mount loudspeakers (in white) have been installed discretely around the entrance area, providing excellent full-range audio coverage for those approaching or leaving the House of Worship.
SVP is reported as being extremely satisfied with the results, and happy to have switch the specification from another manufacturer to Tannoy, citing the exceptional acoustic control offered by QFlex ‘straight out of the box’ as one of the main factors.
