Located in the provincial capital city of Lublin in Eastern Poland, Arena Lublin is a new 15,500-seat football stadium, home to local football club, Motor Lublin.
Built on the land of a former sugar factory, the stadium’s surrounding area has been fully landscaped and is bordered by trees. Inside, the sound system has been designed and installed by Tommex Żebrowscy: ‘We designed the system based on Dynacord electronics with Dante protocol networks and Community R Series loudspeakers,’ says Tommex Sales Director, Marcin Zimny. ‘It’s a combination that gives us outstanding audio quality and reliability.’
The control centre of the system is sited in the commentary room with a Dynacord CMS 1600 mixer and Dell PC. Operating on an Iris-Net network, full control of the audio system is provided from this location. Audio monitoring is provided on Genelec 6010A monitors and headphones. Commentary is via Sennheiser radio mics with a Sabine digital feedback eliminator. A Denon CD/MP3 player provides an audio source for recorded material.
Providing full redundancy, there are two separate amplifier rooms housing the Dynacord P64 digital audio matrix manager units and DPM 8016 digital matrix manager, which incorporates a redundant network system. The system is powered by Dynacord DSA 8410 and DSA 8405 amplifiers, equipped with RCM 810 Iris-net modules. Additional DSA 8405 amplifiers with DCS provide immediate backup if required.
The main stadium sound system comprises seventy-four Community R Series loudspeakers. ‘In addition to speech and music quality and all-weather reliability, R Series provides accurate dispersion with a wide range of throw and pattern options,’ comments Zimny. ‘For Arena Lublin we achieved exceptionally even coverage of the complete 360° seating with 52 R.5-94s, 20 R.5-66s and two R2-474s.’
Tommex also provided the audio for rooms and corridors within the arena with one hundred forty two loudspeakers. This included Community’s DS8 surface-mount and D4 ceiling loudspeakers. The internal system can be locally operated by two Dynacord wall-mounted mixer/controllers.
‘The Arena Lublin system delivers the experience fans would expect from a new world-class facility,’ Zimny says. ‘Intelligibility is easily maintained above the roar of the crowd, delivering entertainment and safety. With an outstanding venue and clear audio, they can really enjoy the football.’
