The University of Applied Sciences in Münster, Germany, is the latest facility to install an Aimline loudspeaker system turning the former Von Einem-Kaserne military base to use as a Science & Research establishment.
The University of Applied Sciences department commissioned three new lecture-halls to be equipped with Aimline-digital steerable column loudspeakers specifically for high speech intelligibility and immunity from feedback when using headsets and lavalier microphones. This requirement, coupled with the demand for a slim and very unobtrusive design, suited the ribbon HF drivers used in Aimline loudspeakers.
In Leonardo-1, the largest of the lecture halls with 180 seats, two Aimline ALM17.3 have been installed, each equipped with 17 x 3.5-inch-woofers and three Ribbon-HF-drivers. The other two lecture halls – Leonardo-4 and Leonardo-5 with 80 seats – two Aimline ALM 10.2 have been installed, equipped with 10 x 3.5-inch-woofers and two ribbon drivers.
‘Suggesting the use of a steerable Aimline speakers made it easy to convince the customer,’ says Stefan Aust, of the Osnabrück PBR Planning Agency. ‘The speech intelligibility is high and the design fits into the room aesthetic.’
The installation was handled by A/V specialist Faircom Media: ‘Installation and technical integration was quite easy and programming the columns with the Aimline-Control-software was quick and simple,’ says the company’s Stephan Bergmann.
