The event required echo cancellation, and the Sonifex hybrid has internal memory capacity allowing echo cancellation to 127ms and improvement in distortion of other mixed signals. This improves the hybrid’s ability to accept calls from mobile phones and where there are other delays – on satellite and conference calls, for example. The DHY-03 can recall signals from its memory buffer and allow for these delays without impairing performance.
With rejection ratio of between 75dB and 80dB, international settings and universal line compatibility make the unit a good technical impedance match with the line, no matter where it is in the world. Other features include input and output gain adjustment, input and output metering, conferencing, local/remote line hold switching, integrated auto-answer, automatic call disconnection, auto-ducking, DTMF tone recognition, a balanced mic/line input, a balanced line output and serial control, with free of charge control software available on the Sonifex website.
‘All I can say is that the sound quality is amazing in a live event type of environment,’ says Gregory Viger, of Audio-Visual & Technical Communications Specialist at the Canadian Space Agency who was responsible for specifying and installing the system
