The Association of Professional Recording Services (APRS) reports ‘an overwhelming response’ from both members and non-members to its recent surveys.
‘Tools such as the on-line survey ensure that the services and support that we offer remain relevant as our audio industry continues to evolve,’ says Acting Chairman, Nick Cook. ‘We had a great response to our surveys this year. In part, we are sure, thanks to the generous support of Sonnox who donated valuable software bundles as prizes to a few lucky entrants.’
As the representative organisation for professional audio recording studios and associated recording services in the UK, the APRS seeks to clearly understand the needs of both existing members and the wider audio industry at large. Key findings from the survey identified that its events remain popular for continuing professional development. Networking opportunities remain valuable to share knowledge and experience. Supplier discounts to members are beneficial, as is the free access to the business helpline. To meet the needs of all APRS members, it was suggested that an online streaming facility of events would be most valuable. This survey is just one way the APRS can understand the challenges its members and others face and how it can continue to be the meaningful influence and voice for the audio industry.
In appreciation, Sonnox donated a software bundles to two survey respondents. ‘Sonnox is pleased to be able to support the Association of Professional Recording Services, which achieves so much by providing crucial support to the UK recording and music industries,’ says Rod Densham, Sonnox MD. ‘We thank the members and non-members who responded for their input and suggestions, all of which will be used to shape the future direction and evolution of the APRS. We hope the worthy prize-winners enjoy using their Sonnox plug-in bundles.’
The winners of the Sonnox software bundles were APRS Member, Julie Bartley of Rolling Audio and Non-Member, Karel Noon.
