Miloco has added two new studios to its portfolio –Spain’s Estudis Ground and its first Portuguese partner, Fridão Natura Recording.
A residential recording studio located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean Sea, Estudis Ground occupies a lush vine-covered building with recording facilities supported by home comforts and on-site artist accommodation. Three recording rooms – the main room, piano room and vocal booth – all offer unique sonic and recording capabilities, and a variety of equipment, backline and instruments. These rooms are clustered around the control room equipped with a new custom console hand-built by Malcolm Toft, Pro Tools, and the selection of outboard and mics.
In neighbouring Portugal, Fridão Natura Recording is an old hunter’s house set on a small hillside among grape vines. Wide windows and glass doors take full advantage of the views, allow natural light into the writing and recording environment. Given the remote location, the studio offers the unique feature of being able to record both inside and outside, without disturbing neighbours.
The ground floor houses a very large control room, while upstairs is dedicated to a large and sunny live room. This is stocked with a selection of backline including amps, guitars, keyboards and percussion. The studio provides a range of services that are tailored to bands on a budget wishing to write and record in a remote location.
