The IABM has struck an agreement with Future Media Concepts (FMC) to host IABM training courses at FMC’s eight training facilities across North America.
Established in 1994, FMC supports manufacturer-authorised training digital video and film editing, motion graphics, web design and development, sound design, 3D animation, desktop publishing, architectural and mechanical design, Mac IT and mobile app development. Under the agreement, FMC will initially host eight two-day IABM classroom-based courses, covering IP and file-based workflows, audio and video fundamentals, network essentials, advanced networks, introduction to broadcast technology and understanding the broadcast and media industry.
FMC’s connected classrooms integrate video conferencing, IABM course attenance in person or via link-up with any available FMC centre, or from a desk at work or home. FMC training centres are located in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Orlando, Chicago, Irvine CA, Phoenix and Toronto.
‘We have been looking for a partner to enable us to better deliver our wide range of professional development training courses to students in North America, and FMC has exactly the facilities we need,’ says IABM Head of Training, Andy Jones. ‘Our North American training offer will benefit greatly from the use of FMC’s interconnected training centres in the US and Canada. Further, the IABM and FMC training offers are complementary, so we are already exploring the potential of growing the way that we work together long-term, to the benefit of a broad range professionals in our industry.’
The agreement also allows each organisation to promote and sell the other’s training courses and e-learning.
