The IABM (International Association of Broadcasting Manufacturers) has announced its APAC Regional Council and new chairman, as elected by Council members.
Drawn from both APAC headquartered and international member companies operating in the region, the new Regional Council will provide a voice in the region’s broadcast and media technology industry. Dennis Breckenridge, CEO of ABS (Advanced Broadcast Solutions, Asia) has been elected Chairman of the APAC Regional Council, and will serve for two years. He has more than 20 years’ experience in broadcast business management, development and sales. His experience also includes the creative production aspects of the business, most recently as producer for the SEA Games Opening and Closing Ceremony in Myanmar.
‘I have served over the past year on the Council and am excited to see all the region-specific events and opportunities that have risen from this local focus,’ Breckenridge says. ‘I want to help support its continued growth over the coming months with more events aimed at specific industry gaps to further benefit participating members. I will also help drive membership growth in APAC to achieve better representation in IABM overall.;
‘The new IABM APAC Council; it will provide strong representation for the industry in the region,’ says Peter Bruce, IABM Director, APAC. ‘Since IABM established its APAC regional headquarters in Singapore, we have greatly increased member engagement with a series of activities, which has also led to growth in our membership in the region. With the guidance of our new chairman, Dennis Breckenridge and the APAC council, I am confident that IABM influence in the APAC region will continue to grow to the benefit of all our members.’
‘Our initiative to establish Councils in key regions around the world was designed to bring local knowledge and relevance to members in those regions, backed up by the full array of central IABM resources,’ adds IABM CEO, Peter White. ‘They have already proved to be very successful, and looking at the enormous breadth of industry experience and regional expertise that makes up the new APAC Regional Council, I expect much greater engagement for all our members in the region.’
