Burl Audio has worked with Waves Audio to bring Waves SoundGrid technology to the Burl Audio B80 and B16 Mothership configurable AD/DA interfaces.
Waves SoundGrid is an Audio-over-Ethernet technology which allows streaming of high counts of digital audio channels (up to 128) and audio processing through plug-ins at ultra-low-latency (as low as 0.8ms) over a 1Gb network for project studios, live venues or for complex networked recording, and broadcast facilities.
Now Waves SoundGrid-compatible, Burl Mothership supports Audio-over-Ethernet connectivity, offering a high channel count per connection and low latency over an ordinary gigabit Ethernet connection.
The BMB4 Motherboard for Burl Audio’s high-end Mothership series of modular AD/DA convertors with up to 64 channels of extremely low-latency audio networking, plu-gin processing and real-time monitoring with plug-ins.
With the modular configurability of the Mothership and the flexibility of SoundGrid, the Mothership series of converter chassis provide a means of approaching digital conversion using all class-A, discrete analogue circuit with proprietary transformers on input, and op-amps on output.
Key features:
- Connects Mothership to SoundGrid for low-latency audio networking and plug-in processing.
- Mix, play back and record with SoundGrid-compatible plug-ins in real time.
- Up to 64 SoundGrid channels in the Mothership B80/16 SoundGrid channels in the Mothership B16.
- BMB4 connects directly to CPU via Ethernet, no PCIe card required.
- Supported sample rates: 44.1-96kHz.
- SoundGrid Ethernet ports.
- Two BNC Word Clock outputs.
- BNC Word Clock input.
‘With the BMB4 SoundGrid Motherboard, the I/O possibilities are limitless,’ says Burl Audio President and Head Designer, Rich Williams.
