DW Fearn/Hazelrigg Industries has announced several updates to the VT Series of tube microphone preamplifiers, equalisers and compressors.
The updated VT-2 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Mic Preamp now features an integrated, switchable 43dB pad, enabling it to be patched into the Master Buss during mixdown and mastering to add DW Fearn’s sonic signature to the final mix or mastering process. This replaces the need for the LP-1 Line pad, which was a separate box previously available from DW Fearn. The new design now makes the VT-2 equally at home in recording, mixing, and mastering.
The VT-5 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Equalizer and VT-7 Dual Channel Vacuum Tube Microphone Compressor incorporate a class-A vacuum tube audio path, and now operate without an internal fan.
‘When we first introduced the VT Series, I knew I had created something really special,’ says compny founder and designer, Doug Fearn,. ‘I finally had a preamp that satisfied my own sonic requirements and it’s been fulfilling to know that our users agree. These updates are simply another step in ensuring that our offerings deliver the best sound quality, performance and reliability possible.’
The new VT-2, VT-5, and VT-7 are available at an MSRP of US$5,500, US$10,200 and US$8,200, respectively.
