Martin Audio has appointed Andy Duffield as APAC Account Manager and Roland Morcom as EMEA Account Manager.
With more than 30 years’ experience in pro audio, Duffield will take charge of a growing sales region both for touring and installation., ‘China, Japan and Australia are critical territories, and there is opportunity to grow in such countries as Korea, Vietnam and Singapore,’ says Simon Bull, International Sales Director. ‘Andy has a great opportunity to build Martin Audio’s presence and I’m delighted to have such a well-respected manager dedicated to the region.’
Replacing the long-serving Martin Kelly, Roland Morcom will take on selected countries in EMEA, shared with Andy Weingartner who joined earlier in the year. ‘It’s obviously with great sadness that we say good bye to Martin Kelly after 23 years, but I’m confident that Roland will bring his own style and success to the region,’ Bull says.
After 23 years at Martin Audio, and having witnessed huge change encompassing the final year of David Martin through to the breakthrough of MLA, Martin Kelly has been one of the company’s most ardent evangelists. A special event marked his retirement, beginning with an informal gathering where with Kelly was presented with an iPad, a retirement survival kit and a trip down memory lane courtesy of tales from colleagues and a photographic montage from across the years. This was followed by the appearance of a number guests, as many of his customers had flown in especially to say goodbye. Kelly, ever self-deprecating, said: ‘I’ve just been a small cog in a wonderful wheel that is Martin Audio. You guys are the future, enjoy and relish it.’
A long night at the local hostelry ensued including more guests and a performance of classic hits from Anzollo, a band made up from Martin Audio employees, past and present.
‘Its people like Martin Kelly that have made this company what it is today – passionate, knowledgeable, and doing business in the right way where customers become partners, dare I say even friends,’ Buss says. ‘We will miss him dearly and wish him every enjoyment in his well-deserved retirement.’
