UK-based pro audio and video installation and sales company Marquee AV has appointed of Jimmy Potter as Sales Manager.
Potter began his career at Nomis, eventually becoming Studio Manager of a facility that dominated the live rehearsal sector throughout the 1980s. During Potter’s tenure, Nomis hosted The Jam, Dire Straits, Tina Turner, Status Quo, The Police, Wham!, Culture Club, Duran Duran and Queen. Live Aid rehearsals were held at Nomis and Paul McCartney held a jam session there with the full Beatles lineup, possibly their last together. After leaving Nomis, Potter moved to the sales side of the pro audio industry and worked with Sensible Music, Marquee Sales and Fuzion.
‘I had previously worked with Mark Brown and some of the other guys during my time at Marquee Sales,’ Potter says. ‘I respected the installation division and could see the professional way Mark steered Marquee Installations to become independent, and how the company has evolved and expanded to become the market leading integrator that Marquee AV is today.’
‘With former colleagues, a great atmosphere and the love for what we do, there’s an element of coming home. But it’s now a company that has developed its standards and works even better at a higher level of professionalism.’
‘It’s great to have Jimmy back on the team,’ says Marquee AV MD, Mark Brown. ‘His tremendous experience is a great asset and he fits in so well with our culture, with a relaxed but professional approach and the desire to always deliver the best systems and service.’
