Audio Precision has appointed Jayant Datta as Chief Technology Officer ‘to focus on the organisation’s technology strategy, product platform evolution and innovation efforts’.
‘Jayant’s design experience, broad audio expertise, and standards-based work will be key assets as we strive to continue bringing innovative solutions to audio and electro-acoustic test applications in a wide array of markets,’ says Dave Schmoldt, Audio Precision CEO. In his new role, Datta will collaborate with Tom Kite, Ph.D, VP of Engineering, and Bruce Hofer, Co-Founder and Chief Analog Engineer.
Datta most recently served as Assistant Vice President for Audio R&D at THX, and brings more than 20 years’ audio experience and a track record of developing and implementing audio technologies across a broad range of industries and applications to AP. In addition to roles with Discrete Laboratories, Motorola,and Wheatstone, he has been an adjunct professor with Syracuse University’s Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Department since 1999. Datta holds a bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT, Bombay) and two master’s degrees (Electrical & Computer Engineering; Music Engineering) from the University of Miami.
