As well as distribution of mobile phones and other engineering equipment, IEC installs and implements information technology systems. The network new mobile TV network –the first in Thailand – will be provided by US-based Telairity and the China Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). It will be based on China Mobile Media Broadcast (CMMB) wireless technology.

Launched two years ago, the CMMB technical standard is similar to the European Union's DVB-H protocol.  At present it is supported by mobile phone manufacturers in China including Motorola, Samsung and Nokia.

A third partner in the consortium is CBC, a Chinese company approved by China's State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT). CBC recently completed the construction of the world’s largest CMMB mobile broadcast television coverage, with the capability to transmit signals reaching close to a billion people.

The project is expected to be underway in March, beginning operation in Bangkok.
