First Festival returned to the Fiera Del Mare, the spacious summer stage at one of Italy’s most prestigious techno events, ranking among the top six in national importance.

Outline fronts Italy’s First Festival in GenoaFollowing previous sold-out events presented by RST Eventstreated featuring artists including Nina Kraviz, Charlotte de Witte, and Richie Hawtin, this year’s festival offered a ten-hour musical experience. The line-up included top international DJs Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann, CamelPhat (Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala), Mathame (Matteo and Amedeo Giovanelli) and Fel (Giovanni Galvani and Alessio Lerma).

An essential element of the First Festival since 2013 has been the Outline sound system installed by Show Technologies from Recco.

Alessandro Orlando – representing RST Events and a prominent figure in organising major events in Genoa over the past decade – comments: ‘Outline has become synonymous with reliability and success for us, and it’s not just my perspective as an organiser, but it’s a sentiment echoed by our audience and the artists we host every year. Receiving numerous compliments, something not easy to come by in our industry, for the audio’s clarity and power is truly rewarding.

‘With Outline, we consistently succeed in engaging and immersing every attendee, be it in an indoor or outdoor setting, like our latest edition that covered an extensive area of 16,000sq-m. Even the artists themselves are in awe, often pausing monitor loudspeakers during the performances to appreciate the exceptional quality of the PA system. Their wide-eyed expressions and smiles say it all, expressing their amazement and satisfaction with the sound.’

The audio set-up at Fiera Del Mare comprised 24 GTO modules plus two GTO-DF (main), 20 Mantas (front fill), six Mantas (private area) and 28 DBS 18-2 subwoofers, configured in an ‘end-fire’ array. The system was powered by Outline amplifiers and the design process utilised the sophisticated Open Array 3D acoustic modelling software, also developed by Outline.
