UK-based assistive listening specialist Contacta Systems and Australian hearing augmentation provider Hearing Loop Australia (HLA) have struck a distribution agreement that will see stock held locally at its main office in Melbourne, allowing orders can be fulfilled with shorter lead times to an established network of customers, A/V integrators, pro-audio installers and specifiers. The deal will see the creation of a dedicated website to promote Contacta’s technology.

With more than 15 years’ experience in supply and installation of A/V and assistive listening technology, Hearing Loop Australia is presently the only distributor offering nationwide coverage and which has equipment specified in every state and territory. Based in Victoria, the company also has offices in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia.

Hearing Loop Australia‘This is an exciting partnership for us and offers a new approach to supply and installation,’ says Contacta Head of New Business Development, Ran Meyrav. ‘Hearing Loop Australia is unique in that the company has an in-house audiologist and a keen focus on the outcome for people with hearing loss, not just enabling venues to meet accessibility legislation. We found many common goals and a joint philosophy on hearing accessibility in our discussions with their management, which helped our decision.’

‘We are very much looking forward to working closely with Contacta,’ says Hearing Loop Australia’s Director, Ian Riddle. ‘Like us, Contacta concentrates on providing solutions that really work for end-users through technology at the highest level. The products range means we can offer assistive listening technology solutions for every situation in every venue, and Contacta’s unparalleled level of training and support will enable our team to hit the ground running.’

‘Ian and his team bring on board a huge amount of experience and market knowledge,’ Meyrav adds. ‘They have already completed major projects using our products. This new relationship means they will now also be able to offer technical, design and after-sales support on our ranges and we look forward to a very successful relationship.’
