Winner of the first Eufòria, the popular Catalan talent show aired on TV3, Mariona Escoda recently played the La Passió d’Esparreguera theatre – presenting an unmissable opportunity to highlight the new Amate Audio system installation in one of the largest and most emblematic theatres in Catalonia, Spain.
With a capacity of 1,800 and a 15m-wide stage, the theatre has completely renovated its sound system installation, relying on Amate Audio for this significant investment.
Along with revised auditorium acoustics, the installation delivers an exceptional live experience for both theatrical performances and musical events.
The acoustic performance of the hall became a key challenge – analysis revealed an unwanted acoustic reflection from the centre of the sidewalls, particularly affecting the clarity of the voice in the central area of the hall. This was resolved by placing acoustic panels strategically on the affected walls.
The full sound system installation comprises 24 Amate Audio N208 line arrays set elements on each side of the stage for music and voice, plus a central cluster of eight elements exclusively for vocal reproduction, reinforcing voice presence towards the audience. These are supported by six X18T subwoofers – three per side – for low frequency extension, and eight N6P loudspeakers for front fill. The loudspeaker systems are served by two Amate Audio LMS608 DSP management processors and two HD1200 amplifiers for the passive front fill.
