Avid is to integrate Gobbler into Pro Tools, bringing cloud-based file exchange and back-up to Pro Tools sessions. The integration will enable users to send files, mixes and sessions directly from the Pro Tools interface.
In addition, the functionality supports automatic location and back-up of local Pro Tools sessions to the cloud. It will also locate, back-up and send all the media files a session requires, regardless of where they are stored, and run continuous backup of sessions. The system will not be limited by file-size, and sessions can be sent to anyone.
Until implementation of the integration is launched, Gobbler will continue to support back-up and transfer of Pro Tools sessions, and currently offers users free 5Gb accounts with larger plans available on a monthly or annual basis.
