Mexico City’s G Martell College of Music Technology and Audio has recently installed a 48-channel API 1608 analogue mixing console, equipped with the company’s proprietary P-Mix automation.
The school has been teaching music-focused courses for more than 130 years, and has recently expanded into music technology. Purchased from Vari Internacional – API’s exclusive dealer in Mexico City – the console will be used to teach tracking and mixing to students enrolled in the Audio Engineering and Production Program.
The installation of this 1608 aligns with API’s support of music education through its products, and the response from G Martell College has been positive: ‘They are so happy with the console,’ says Vari Internacional’s Gustavo Martinez. ‘It has been a complete success for them.’
Vari Internacional is well established in all sectors of the professional sound industry, particularly rental and staging, as well as television and theatre. Alongside API, the company carries high-profile internaional brands including L-Acoustics and Avid.
