A 30bn yuan ($4.8bn) recreation of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing – which was looted by British and French troops in 1860 before being destroyed in 1900. It is located within a film studio complex operated Hengdian Group that also houses replicas of sections of the Forbidden City. The New Yuanming Palace of Zhuhai includes an imperial garden, lake, pagodas and a new central outdoor theatre to stage theatrical performances.
The theatre is a 6,000-capacity multi-functional venue with a 10, 000m² seating area hosting regular cultural performances and festival events. An Allen & Heath iLive digital system has been installed as the FOH mixer – comprising an iLive-T112 Control Surface and iDR-48 MixRack, fitted with an M-Dante network card to support 64 channels of multitrack for live recording and playback.
