Broadcast live worldwide for the first time, Chile’s Viña del Mar Festival at the Quinta Vergara Amphitheater added 5m remote viewers to the 15,000 fans in the stadium recently.Central to the performance of its impressive line-up of artists were Shure’s Axient Digital and PSM wireless systems, despite the challenging technical environment. Alongside 70 channels of Axient Digital, were 62 channels of PSM 1000 Advanced In-Ear Personal Monitoring System, and four channels of Axient Digital PSM Advanced Digital In-Ear Monitor System

Marc Anthony opened the LXIV edition of the festival performing with an ADX2 handheld with a Beta 58 capsule. He also relied on Shure’s newest digital in-ear monitoring solution, Axient Digital PSM. ‘My experience with Axient Digital PSM has been amazing,’ reports sound engineer Jimmy Ibanez. ‘From day one, I was was able to maintain the digital transmission via Dante from my console right to the unit. The sound is extremely transparent and clean. The stage was surrounded completely by video walls, but I immediately felt the difference in RF transmission. There were no hiccups with the RF signal, so it’s been incredible.

Marc Anthony opened the LXIV edition of the Nina del Mar Festival ‘Viña del Mar is a huge and very prestigious show in Latin America,’ he adds. ‘And at a big show like this, having the Shure team was really helpful, and it made it another amazing experience.’

Hosts Rafael Araneda and Karen Doggenweiler also used Shure wireless microphones, preferring a KSM11 nickel capsule on stage and a KSM9 black capsule for backstage interviews. Both capsules were paired with Shure ADX2 handheld wireless transmitters. The Ha*Ash duo – sisters Hanna and Ashley – received the Gaviota De Oro award and performed with two personalised gold Shure ADX2 handheld microphones with an SM58 capsule and the PSM 1000 Advanced In-Ear Monitoring System. Other artists, such as Bacilos, Miriam Hernandez, The Cult, Duki and Kidd Voodo, also Shure Axient Digital while Incubus also used Axient Digital PSM during their performances at 2025.

‘Supporting a show like Viña del Mar enables us to work closely with artists and their engineers and help them maximise Shure’s solutions,’ says Shure Market Development Specialist, Ruben Alvarez Sr. ‘By being onsite, we show them what Shure’s wireless technology is capable of, resulting in creative and extraordinary performances that both the audience and artists enjoy to the fullest.’
